AMUM18 - WINNERS

Moroccan Rachid El Morabity wins the 270 kms, world’s longest desert ultramarathon in 31:17:29, closely followed in 2nd place by France’s Merile Robert in 31:46:45. U.S. Magdalena Boulet was the first female runner who crossed the finishing line in 37:27:59, setting a remarkable pace, followed in 2nd place for the women by Moroccan Aziza Raji in 40:03:20.

The world class ultra runners participating all commented that the course was the toughest they had encountered as well as the longest. It was an astonishing feat testing the human spirit as well as physical endurance.
The 24 hour 100 kms race was won by Russian Anton Kvashnevskiy in 14:33:30, and the first female was the Netherland’s Harmke Westervelt in 19:29:33.
The 50 kms race was won by Evgenii Glyva from Ukraine in 4:42:58, and for the women Anna Piasecka-Wszola from Poland won in 6:55:55.
